isaackl mircea_popescu: still here. I read you complaining about lack of affiliate rev on http://trilema.com/2014/bitbet-april-2014-statement/ and did a little digging on other casino affiliate schemes (both bitcoin and fiat). Mostly they seem to pay affiliates a cut of player losses, assumption being that players eventually lose most of their buy-ins to the house (via roulette, slots, etc). [00:16]
isaackl BitBet doesn’t have those kind of games and maybe that changes the economics? You have to persuade players to lay down 100 btc to net 1 btc in affiliate rev. Not easy to buy traffic which pays out 100x what you paid for it. With FB ads a typical game might net, say, $10 on average per user, and we’d be buying installs for maybe $5 and trying to optimise it to $3. [00:16]
isaackl For BitBet, SEO or finding sites with underutilised ad space (as with 8chan) is probably the way to go? Both take time though. I can send your btc back if you want as tbh I have little expertise in that world. Also let me know if you think my reasoning is flawed. [00:16]

mircea_popescu kinda sad how peoples go retarded over time. apparently a history of sanity is no ward against ulterior rampaging idiocy. [21:54]
asciilifeform mircea_popescu: afaik it was u.s. occupation that did it [21:55]
BingoBoingo U.S. occupation introduced all kinds of retardation on the Japanese. Panties are one mircea_popescu would probably find Japan better without. [21:57]
mircea_popescu eh, the german occupation didn't make the french queasingly quisling, nor did the russian occupation make the romanians poltrons. [21:57]

mircea_popescu meanwhile in the lolz lists, not only does wikipedia have bad purpose-drawn "illustrations" on the topic, because yeah totally you gotta make another one to illustrate the point, but also they have MULTIPLE, equally bad, ones. like http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ed/Wikibukkake_new.png/220px-Wikibukkake_new.png and http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/11/Wiki-bukkake-2.png/220px-W [22:01]

Michail1 ? [23:32]
danielpbarron what's up? [23:32]
Michail1 I PMed ya. Not for channel. [23:32]
danielpbarron I think we have a relationship but I can't recall clearly because i wasn't able to rate you [23:33]
danielpbarron your nickname had some gribble magic on it or something [23:33]
Michail1 Yea. Gribble has an issue with me. [23:33]
Michail1 yes [23:33]
danielpbarron you are of course ratable now under assbot, but i don't recall what i would have rated [23:33]
danielpbarron something positive, for busting scammers in -otc i think [23:34]
Michail1 It's all good. I don't need a rating. [23:34]
Michail1 Heh. yup. [23:34]
Michail1 which is why I pmed you. [23:34]
danielpbarron is adyop a scammer? [23:34]
danielpbarron it's very common for new names to show up in here and then leave after someone gives them voice [23:35]
danielpbarron people are very timid [23:35]
Michail1 yes [23:35]
danielpbarron yes he's a scammer? [23:35]
Michail1 yes [23:36]
Michail1 bad IP. :) [23:37]
* danielpbarron doesn't think scammers will have much luck in here [23:37]
Michail1 I didn't think so either. I rarely watch the channel. Saw him come in. got voice. Just was wondering. [23:37]
danielpbarron considering that the channel isn't too active at the moment, I little chat from a known scammer might be nice [23:39]
Michail1 Heh. He likes to talk, but rarely in channel. His English is getting way better than it was only 6 months ago. [23:40]
danielpbarron lol he scammed someone for 10 ? [23:41]
Michail1 yes [23:41]
danielpbarron how is there still 10 bitcoin to steal in -otc ?? [23:41]
Michail1 No one has less than 10, rite? heh [23:41]
danielpbarron yeah but someone with > 10 who also falls for scams on irc ? [23:42]
Michail1 Very rare. [23:42]
Michail1 I forget which nick he was squatting when he scored the 10. I could check. [23:43]
Michail1 Ahh, he scammed Tabaza [23:44]
Michail1 wow, been 2 months already. [23:45]

Michail1 correction ---- Blazedout4l9 [23:48]
danielpbarron always check dat gpg ! [23:49]
Michail1 Ahhh, but he did. He manually typed in the nick insted of copy/pasted. [23:50]
Michail1 Blazedout4l9 != Blazedout419 [23:50]
danielpbarron he couldn't have checked the gpg [23:50]
danielpbarron or else he would have found that the sig didn't match [23:51]
Michail1 He checked to see the Blazedout419 was online and gpg authed, but didn't realized that the squatter was using the nick Blazedout4l9 [23:51]
danielpbarron there's the problem; there is no such thing as being "authed" [23:51]
danielpbarron or at least, not any sort of persistant state [23:51]
Michail1 Blazedout419 was in the channel while Blazedout4l9 wasn't. So, he right clicked the nick he SAW in the channel to see it was authed. [23:52]

Bely?s Petersburg, for example, is a masterpiece considered by many critics to be a precursor to the postmodern novel, but it?s a behemoth of a book that requires a linguistic and mathematical genius to fully comp [23:53]
