jurov apparently if you do cancel, create new order and stat quickly enough, in this order [00:37]
jurov the new order may not surface in that stat [00:37]
Azelphur mircea_popescu: http://polimedia.us/bitcoin/mpex-vwap.php this feed, it's volumes and last trade right? [00:39]
* rdponticelli (~rdpontice@200-081-044-061.wireless.movistar.net.ar) has joined #bitcoin-otc-eu [00:39]

Azelphur oh wait derp, it's just volumes [00:40]
Azelphur mircea_popescu: Y U NO LAST TRADE ANYWHERE [00:40]
Azelphur every time I have to html scrape god kills a kitten [00:40]
nanotube good thing those furry little vermin reproduce like rabbits. :) [00:41]
Azelphur haha, indeed [00:41]
jurov azelphur, oooooh, don't freak, it will be done eventually :D [00:41]
Azelphur jurov: just messing about, not freaking, I know :) [00:42]
jurov azelphur, and you already have proper synchronizing of your data with stat mess? [00:42]
jurov or not started yet? [00:42]
Azelphur ? [00:42]
jurov i mean, keeping track what happens with your account [00:43]
Azelphur jurov: are you talking about the exchange? I stopped working on that a while back [00:43]
jurov so that you can reconstruct it back in time [00:43]
jurov yes, about mpex [00:43]
jurov okay [00:43]
Azelphur yea, I stopped making a frontend [00:43]
Azelphur I'm just working on mbot now [00:43]
* rdponticelli_ (~rdpontice@200-081-038-107.wireless.movistar.net.ar) has joined #bitcoin-otc-eu [00:44]
jurov how is your bot going to track his/her orders? especially if there are more of'em on one acct? [00:44]
* rdponticelli has quit (Ping timeout: 245 seconds) [00:45]
Azelphur mbot is an irc bot that shows trade info live, rather than a bot that trades on mpex [00:45]
mircea_popescu Azelphur vwap is volume weighted average prices [00:45]
* grazcoin (bce3e068@gateway/web/freenode/ip.188.227.224.104) has joined #bitcoin-otc-eu [00:45]
Azelphur mircea_popescu: y u no last price anywhere? :( [00:45]
grazcoin ;;auth grazcoin [00:45]

mircea_popescu well nobody asked. [00:45]
Azelphur hehe [00:45]
mircea_popescu where d o you want it ? [00:45]
Azelphur I dunno, where ever you feel is appropriate [00:46]
Azelphur easiest for me would be in vwap [00:46]
grazcoin ;;verify http://paste.debian.net/plain/179851/ [00:46]
gribble You are now authenticated for user 'grazcoin' with key B29A528142A29BF9 [00:46]
mircea_popescu and lo and behold jurov : you are not alone. Azelphur is back from the dead and i think mod6 is also workijng on something [00:46]
Azelphur mircea_popescu: nothing so grandiose, just upgrading mbot :) [00:46]
mircea_popescu Azelphur i don't really want to change old files. you'll prolly have a last trade json tomorro [00:46]
Azelphur mircea_popescu: ok :) [00:47]
jurov mircea, what do you think about the quirk i wrote above? [00:47]
mircea_popescu which one is that ? [00:48]
jurov [23:37] apparently if you do cancel, create new order and stat quickly enough, in this order [00:48]
jurov [23:37] the new order may not surface in that stat [00:48]
jurov it will appear later [00:48]
mircea_popescu well what would you expect me to do about this quirk ? untangle the quantum nature of the universe ? [00:49]
jurov untangling of quantum nature of mpex would suffice. can you tell me which delay should i use [00:50]
mircea_popescu i am actually contemplating getting rid of cancels outright. [00:50]
mircea_popescu they're a sickening load on the entire process. [00:50]
jurov for making sure the new order appears in stat? [00:50]
mircea_popescu i think the problem here is moreover phylosophical. you expect to track your account by stats only. this is not the intended functioning. you should track your account by your own actions, and use the stat to verify this periodically. [00:51]
mircea_popescu you don't need me to tell you what you've done. [00:51]
jurov if it's philosophically OK when you issue SELL at time T, get OK response and STAT at time T+1 get information about your balance as if nothing happened [00:54]
jurov "with the stamp duly applied" [00:54]
mircea_popescu but you understand willy-nilly there will be a delay between the action and its reporting. [00:55]
jurov Yessss. Precisely this delay I'm asking about. [00:55]
mircea_popescu for instance, if i send a sepa transfer right now [00:55]
mircea_popescu and look on my bank statement [00:55]
mircea_popescu IT WILL NOT BE THERE [00:55]
mircea_popescu but it will appear later. [00:55]
jurov okay, but if it won't be there next day, you'll be worried. [00:56]
mircea_popescu well, it depends on a number of factors i have no control over, which is why instead of putting a silly rate limit on account operations [00:56]
mircea_popescu i prefer to leave it as it is now. doesn't it seem more sensible ? [00:56]
mircea_popescu yes, next day. but you don't mean "next day" by "quickly enough" do you ? [00:56]
* james777 (4b6217c1@gateway/web/freenode/ip.75.98.23.193) has joined #bitcoin-otc-eu [00:57]
jurov well, i did not mean to argue.. will experiment and determine the delay or other solution myself [00:58]
mircea_popescu in general it shouldn't be more than a second, but obviously depends on how the various processes involved are hit [00:59]
mircea_popescu is it in your experience often over a second or so ? [00:59]
jurov yes, around a second [00:59]
mircea_popescu yeah. as order volumes pick up it might climb and then as i add servers drop and so on. [01:00]
mircea_popescu i don't see another way around it tbh. [01:00]
* james777 has quit (Client Quit) [01:00]
* copumpkin has quit (Quit: Computer has gone to sleep.) [01:01]
jurov i understand... but am also frustrated i can't get two bots to share one acct reliably... with real users it would lead to major fuckups [01:03]
* Gnaffel (~chatzilla@se2x.mullvad.net) has joined #bitcoin-otc-eu [01:03]
mircea_popescu well that i can understand. [01:04]
mircea_popescu still, account sharing among bots would be a bit tricky in any approach. [01:04]
mircea_popescu or maybe i dont understand exactly what you're trying to do [01:05]
* grazcoin has quit (Quit: Page closed) [01:08]
jurov basically i'm trying in real time to reconstruct sequence of transactions and whatever in my account to be saved in sql database, the bots themselves are only tools for testing atm [01:10]
jurov and was using STAT output to check my computed balances against(after now I'll stop doing that) [01:11]
mircea_popescu well it should work, if you have your computed balances and they don't fit the stat [01:17]
mircea_popescu ask for a new one [01:17]
mircea_popescu if they do fit the stat you're ok. [01:17]
mircea_popescu no good ? [01:17]

phedny it's not for one-time use [15:37]
phedny my desktop PC has a reader, but SD is only compatible up to 2 GB [15:37]
phedny and my notebook doesn't have a reader at all [15:37]
phedny anyway, I discovered my newly acquired equipment has a USB interface and connecting it to my notebook allowed me to at least format the SD card and make the stuff work [15:38]
phedny I just don't want to take the camera to my notebook everytime I want to copy a file [15:38]
Mqrius Makes sense. Well the dealextreme one works, and is pretty cheap. [15:41]
phedny yeah, I might just buy that one [15:43]
phedny missed another chance to spend some BTC [15:43]
