jurov` yes, like that. just don't mix it with other stuff [00:32]
nubbins` davout: i mean like the classic american burger cheese. not sure if it's processed cheddar or w/e [00:32]

dub its low quality plastic that the chinese didnt want [00:33]
nubbins` lot of times it just comes down to the fact that it's not worth importing [00:34]
nubbins` canadian population is what, 10% of american [00:34]
Vexual chinese dont eat cheese [00:34]
nubbins` lactose intolerance is much more common in asia [00:35]
davout nubbins`: no but i mean sometimes you really wonder, because the stuff can be produced locally quite easily as well [00:35]
davout for example bacon in france [00:35]
nubbins` davout, too true [00:35]
nubbins` pigs have the same parts over there, afaik ;) [00:35]
nubbins` you could probably request it from a butcher [00:35]
davout when going to the stores you will find exactly 0 bacon packs [00:35]
dub they probably get more to eat than just antibiotics however [00:35]
nubbins` ^ [00:35]
davout or shitty super thin stuff, but no fucking bacon [00:35]
nubbins` there's a butcher by my house that sells bacon by the slice [00:36]
nubbins` freshly cut off the hog [00:36]
davout bacon is awesome, it'd sell. i can't make sense out of this lack of bacon [00:36]
davout nubbins`: i guess that'd work [00:36]
nubbins` well, maybe the cuts of meat that are popular there just don't allow for bacon [00:36]
truffles maybe they like not being fat [00:36]
davout nubbins`: ahhhh, that would make a lot of sense [00:36]
nubbins` different cultures chop their animals different ways [00:37]
nubbins` like a t-bone steak isn't generally available as a cut of meat in some places [00:37]
dub I have some pork in the freezer that has eaten mostly pinot grapes [00:37]
nubbins` ooh [00:37]

nubbins` just garlic, milk, sugar, salt, vinegar [00:44]
davout "They brought forth scintillating jeweled scuttling crabs, which the Vogons ate, smashing them with large iron mallets" [00:44]
nubbins` so thick, so sweet [00:44]

truffles the milk [00:44]

truffles def skip sauce, will try the meat method [00:45]
nubbins` some recipes call for triple-ground, this is not necessary [00:46]

kakobrekla >BFL_Josh>here's been a bit of a delay at the foundry on our chips and scheduling. The sample chips have been delayed a few weeks (still waiting on an exact date), so this should only affect the earliest customers, who we've already contacted with regards to the delay. The majority of customers should not be affected much, if at all. [23:11]
kakobrekla When I have a specific date from the foundry, I will post an update here with a revised timeline. We still expect to ship the bulk of the orders in/around February. Anyone ordering now will probably not get their order until March or April, just as an FYI and in the spirit of trying to keep realistic expectations on shipping times. [23:11]
kakobrekla Due to the delay for the earliest people, the ones affected will be upgraded to the watercooled version for free. The watercooled Monarch will be a closed loop system, so no maintenance will be required. [23:11]

mircea_popescu here's a wild thought : by the time bitcoins go for 1 mn dollars each, [23:22]
mircea_popescu satoshi notation is exactly as precise as dollars and cents. [23:23]
Vexual elegant [23:23]
dub ke? [23:24]
mircea_popescu by the time bitcoins go for 1bn each, which is probably their upper bound, each satoshi is ten bux [23:24]
mircea_popescu and we can't make change worth a shit. [23:24]
Vexual that would require global inflation where $10 wouldnt buy anything [23:25]
ThickAsThieves just use litecoins, theyll only be worth $100k [23:25]
ThickAsThieves :) [23:25]
mircea_popescu Vexual not at all. [23:25]
ThickAsThieves i was thinking about this a few days ago coincidentally [23:26]
mircea_popescu the endgame where bitcoin is the universal backer of all currency and it trades somewhere in the 10mn to 1bn per range actually sees the dollar slightly stronger than it is today. [23:26]
dub some poindexter at MIT worked out that satoshi-dime parity was $15k and change [23:26]
ThickAsThieves and wondered why there are decimals at [23:26]
ThickAsThieves al [23:26]
ThickAsThieves l [23:26]
dub wait, is dime 5c? [23:26]
mircea_popescu dub is mit on alternate math ? [23:26]
mircea_popescu a dime is 10 cents. [23:26]
benkay mircea_popescu u know i been saying you gotta start writing options on lots of satoshis [23:27]
benkay 0, 1, infinity [23:27]
benkay we all know where this curve goes sir [23:27]
mircea_popescu curve is romanian for whores. [23:27]
dub iirc it was the smallest unit in amerifag money [23:27]
mircea_popescu so i suppose they go to the brothel ? [23:27]
dub which is 5c? [23:27]
benkay save us all the accounting headache of figuring out how many fractions of a buttcoin the options are written on each month and just quote 'em in lots of satoshi and put it in the listing string! [23:27]
mircea_popescu that's a nickle [23:27]
mircea_popescu benkay 0.1 is clearer than 10000000 [23:28]
Vexual is ther 12 million billion dollars in the world? [23:28]
jurov` use 1e7 :DDD [23:28]
dub its going to be a real problem for a lot of bitcoiners [23:28]
mircea_popescu Vexual upper bound tho. [23:28]
benkay ^^ that scientific notation [23:28]
dub how to buy a dimebag of crack when the smallest unit is $10????! [23:28]
mircea_popescu global gnp is somewhere in the 20 trn (thousand billion) range. [23:29]
benkay "what is one to do - scientific notation?" fuck yes! [23:29]
benkay imagine the referential transparency: "O.USD.C125T.e6" [23:30]
Vexual I don't understand the concept mircea [23:30]
mircea_popescu Vexual which one ? [23:30]
dub breathing through his nose [23:31]
mircea_popescu !b3 [23:32]
Vexual upper bound [23:32]
mircea_popescu upper bound is like "the highest something will ever conceivably go" [23:32]
mircea_popescu like the upper bound for cranial capacity is about 3k cc, because there's a finite space between a woman [23:33]
Vexual bitcoin trading to 1bn? [23:33]
mircea_popescu 's legs which allows her to still walk upright [23:33]
mircea_popescu how to buy a dimebag of crack when the smallest unit is $10????! <<< HOW TO PAY TX FEES ON THAT!!! [23:34]
Vexual now im not an economist by any stretch of the imagination.. [23:34]
Vexual ah yes, fees [23:35]
mircea_popescu Vexual looky : about 20 trn of new wealth is added to the world each year. the asset value of the world, all things told, is probably two to three degrees of magnitude above that. [23:36]
mircea_popescu if one single currency is to represent all that value, and especially if that one single currency is bitcoin, where people exhibit a massive tendency to hoard it, [23:36]
mircea_popescu it's not inconceivable that the btc still in circulation by the time btc takes over the whole world economy will trade at what would be the equivalent of today's billion dollars. [23:36]
mircea_popescu it is probably forcing a point, which is why i say upper bound. [23:37]
Vexual i agree [23:37]
mircea_popescu "a billion dollars is the most bitcoin can ever be." [23:37]
Vexual bit at 12 million billion, $10 ain't gonna buy shit [23:38]
mircea_popescu it would buy exactly what it buys today. [23:39]
mircea_popescu a hambuger or a cheap blowjob in america's inner city highschools. [23:39]
mircea_popescu which, agreed, isn't shit. [23:39]
Vexual waiting for that no fee confirm [23:40]
