Me, they say...

Wednesday, 03 October, Year 4 d.Tr. | Author: Mircea Popescu

This morning I woke up firmly decided to put an end to Trilema, as such. It was for a few years a big chunk of my life, it was for a few years a big chunk of Romanian culture, the Romanian interwebs and I guess the lives of some people. It did great things other than collecting detractrollsi, such as scaring the Romanian banking system into submission, crushing careers and other violence. It being my creature I'm not surprised.

The news surprised people around me however, with the sharp C of an expertly placed mallet blow in between steely eyes, through steely helmet (yes, it's a metaphor, which is like a simile). We could say they're mostly giddy with shock. A girl I've known for a while sent me a poem. It's a resend, she sent it to me once before, fresh that time, almost a decade ago. Wanted to know if I recall it. Yes, I recall it. Here it is :

You

What are you?
You refuse to be defined,
Folded, bent
To fit neatly into one of those niches
Where I file all the people in my life.

What are you?
Your arrival exposed the thin veneer
Over the
Cracks and holes
In the rock on which I stood.

What are you?
I envy your freedom,
Soaring free among the clouds
I despise your freedom
And search for a new rock of my own

What are you?
I fear your freedom
That you might fly away
I fear your freedom
That you won’t be pushed away

What are you?
I know you not
Only the reflection of you
Created by the feelings you
Produce
In me

Where are you?
I miss you

I think it is very flattering, really, and I think I am very old. Then again old I always was.

So here you have it, I'm going to be writing in English, mostly about Bitcoin and Bitcoin finance in particular. It is, after all, the one thing I feel like doing at the moment.

See you around.

PS. The word "zslinic" isn't a word, obviously. It's a concoction composed of two Romanian words, zilnic which means daily and silnic which means forcibly, forced labour is munca silnica in Romanian. The entire thing sounds vaguely Hungarian I guess, and it fully describes the mess everyday days are these days. Doesn't it ?

  1. Sounds better this way, I'd say. []

  1. Guess the mothership finally decided to recall all malfunctioning models. Not to toot my own horn, but I saw this coming ever since Jobs kicked the bucket. :P

  3. Io-s curios daca se apuca sa raspunda comentariilor in romana tot in romana, sau in engleza, sau sa nu deloc. Spre exemplu.

  4. Cine mai are timp de comentarii? Viaţa ie nedreaptă, nu vezi că banii virtuali nu se fac cu muncă virtuală?

  5. I almost shed a tear.

Poezia e faina, profunda, insa nu te cam transformi :P

  8. So you started zenofeller in english and put an end to it, went for trilema in romanian to put an end to it and re-started writting in english. Cyclic amirite?

  9. I say: Don't close it, just make sure the BitCoin articles don't outnumber the actually interesting ones :)) (or at least the ones who have a broader appeal).

Alternatively, BTC appeal increases to the point that equation fixes itself the other way.

  12. MMP, are you depressed?
