mircea_popescu not refund it, worry they may not ship ? bet no, etc. [05:16]
Bugpowder regular expression extraction of data is truly an exercise in aligning the precision of what you think you are saying with what you actually are saing [05:16]
mircea_popescu yeah it's quite the intellectual sport. [05:16]

evoorhees yeah it does say that mircea [07:51]
smickles if you are getting a signed response, and that warning happens, something fishy is going on [07:52]
smickles either mpex is signing with the wrong key, or someone else is signing it [07:53]
smickles but, are you actually getting a signed response? [07:53]
mircea_popescu hum [07:53]
evoorhees hmmm lemme try something, one min [07:53]
evoorhees not sure.. how do I tell? [07:53]
mircea_popescu evoorhees you should try going through the thing by hand. [07:53]
smickles is there any output after the warning lines? [07:53]
mircea_popescu clearsign a stat, then encrypt it, then paste iti nto the site [07:53]

mircea_popescu see what happens [07:53]
evoorhees yeah smickles, it says "SyntaxError: invalid syntax" [07:54]
* Chilca has quit (Remote host closed the connection) [07:57]
smickles what is mpex retruning to you that causes a syntax error? [07:59]
smickles 'cause after that warning, there rest of the code is basically if reply == '': return none [08:00]
smickles print reply [08:00]
mod6 doesn't it just work like: mpex.py "STAT" [08:00]
mod6 ? [08:00]
mod6 and maybe since you just re-installed, make sure that all is well with the mpex public key on the keyring... [08:01]
smickles and it's not returning nothing b/c it would've printed "couldn't decode [08:01]
evoorhees I've also tried https://github.com/ageis/MPEx-bin [08:02]
evoorhees and I get further in the process, but still an error [08:02]

mircea_popescu i don't get this tho, why get 3 on this tick and 3 on the next tick [20:13]
mircea_popescu wouldn't it make sense to just get 6 ? [20:13]
assbot [MPEX] [O.BTCUSD.C180T] 3 @ 0.21104493 = 0.6331 BTC [-] [20:13]

smickles the amount is calculated from a few inputs, it starts out as max(int(((mpexbtc / range_) / 2) / SATOSHI), 1) and is lowered by some other variables [20:14]
mircea_popescu but leaving the code aside [20:15]
mircea_popescu what sense does the behaviour make ? [20:16]
mircea_popescu either its a good buy or it isn't. [20:16]
smickles so those other variables are limiting the amount, and as these options are bought the limiting factors are raised a little [20:16]
smickles and they're hard limits that I can't do much about right now [20:17]
mircea_popescu but listen. what has materially changed from a tick to the next to make another increment worth buying, when it wasn't before ? [20:17]
smickles heh, how much usd I know I have [20:18]
mircea_popescu just... from a very fundamental perspective it seems amiss. [20:19]
smickles but listen, the thing isn't optimized, there's room for improvement in many areas and I know it [20:19]
smickles right now, it's easisist for me to take this 'one small step at a time' approach [20:19]
mircea_popescu that i can see. [20:19]
mircea_popescu im not saying it's evil or anything, just thowing 2cents. [20:20]
mircea_popescu i've never coded a bot myself. [20:20]
smickles oh don't get me wrong, it's a good 2 cents, and I knew it before you said it [20:21]
