jurov seems nobody bothered to implement that (or pay to be implemented). [19:18]
markedathome bitcoin-gui needs to talk rpc to bitcoind, which you set by the rpcport, rpcpassword in bitcoin.conf. bitcoind needs to be started first [19:19]
jurov since when? [19:19]
markedathome https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=92929.0 [19:20]
markedathome oops. my google fu is weak today [19:21]
jurov yea, that's it. so i ended up using bitcoind CLI exclusively [19:21]
kakobrekla jurov newest gui has cli built in [19:21]
kakobrekla checkin now if i got that on ubuntu [19:21]
jurov well, that won't help you running bitcoind as service [19:22]
mircea_popescu afaik bitcoin had cli since day 1 [19:22]

pigeons wxgui only before we even had bitcoind satoshi called it "headless bitcoin" [19:22]
pigeons i was thrilled when it came out [19:23]
jurov looks like we are mixing things. using CLI embedded in bitcoin GUI is one thing. RPC calling bitcoind running in the background is compeltely different thing. [19:25]
pigeons ok [19:25]
jurov the latter has advantage it is running all the time, it gets well connected and always ready with freshest blockchain [19:25]
jurov but no gui, then [19:25]
markedathome right, bitcoind needs to run as a daemon, with rpcuser, rpcport, rpcpassword set in the bitcoin.conf [19:25]
markedathome a second bitcoind runs to connect and pass cli commands. [19:26]
kakobrekla 18:25.35 ( jurov ) the latter has advantage it is running all the time, [19:26]
kakobrekla hmm [19:26]
kakobrekla i have at least 1 instace of bitcoin gui running all the time [19:26]
markedathome which should just be bitcoind sendfrom [minconf=1] [comment] [19:26]
markedathome api list --> https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Original_Bitcoin_client/API_Calls_list [19:27]
markedathome at least that was how I used to use namecoind [19:27]
jurov yes, running bitcoin gui all the time is an option, too. [19:28]
markedathome set up new one with -datadir ./somewhere-else and -conf ./newbitcoin.conf, if it is one off. otherwise you can get gui to connect to a daemon with the correct rpc settings [19:30]
jurov "can get gui to connect to a daemon with the correct rpc settings" But this is actually not supported! [19:31]

Diablo-D3 [07:11:40] Diablo-D3: I posted the last known usagi portfolio content to your https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=132961.0 [21:23]
Diablo-D3 [07:12:17] this was from hes web site but it was probably not updated. Only way to find out, what he really had, was ask James for a copy. [21:23]

* Ukto shrugs [21:32]
Ukto i have no control over it [21:32]
Ukto I was told to make twatter feed. I did. then I was told it was obsoleted. end of story. [21:32]
FabianB_ kakobrekla: assbot doesn't like twitter streams anymore? [21:33]
Ukto FabianB_: the issue apaprently [21:34]
Ukto is that twitter will drop updates [21:34]
Ukto and is not accurate [21:34]
Ukto so I guess when I release the API for BF, he will just adhear to that [21:34]
FabianB_ doesn't need to be 100% if it's just > irc [21:35]
Ukto yeah, i only made the twatter feed for itc heh [21:35]
Ukto irc [21:35]
Diablo-D3 Ukto: yeah, just make a stupid telnet api [21:41]
Ukto lol [21:41]
Diablo-D3 you can do it with like a dozen lines of perl [21:41]
Ukto json far easier an faster [21:42]
Diablo-D3 I think you missed the point [21:42]
Diablo-D3 you can stream the json over telnet [21:42]
Diablo-D3 hell, you could run your own irc bot [21:42]
Ukto thought about it, but not worth the time/effort atm [21:43]
Ukto i have more important things I am working on atm [21:43]

Ukto than getting trades to show in irc [21:43]
Diablo-D3 use existing perl irc bot modules [21:43]
Ukto would rather focus on gett the api system finished to publishing [21:43]
Ukto lsat real major thing the system needs [21:44]
Diablo-D3 and then call a remote api in the daemon from your trade api AFTER its closed the http request [21:44]
Diablo-D3 to do the push [21:44]

kakobrekla FabianB_: theres a custom api now since twitter prooved to be unreliable even with the workarounds [22:09]

PsychoticBoy probably this is the case: [23:23]
PsychoticBoy The Raspberry Pi cannot find a valid image on the SD card. Check card is inserted correctly. Check that you have correctly written a Raspberry Pi image to the card. Did you have admin rights when you used the SD-card writer software? Without it the software might go through the motions without actually doing anything! To check if the writing process did actually happen Insert the SD card into a Windows machine and you s [23:23]
PsychoticBoy hould see bootcode.bin, fixup.dat and start.elf amongst others. See also, Known SD Cards. It is also possible that the image you are writing to the card is corrupt, as downloads do occasionally end up corrupted or truncated. You can check with the checksum utility if your download is correct. [23:23]
PsychoticBoy I checked the card and it has the named files in it [23:24]
PsychoticBoy thats the case but it should not be, the sd card is from RS and pre-programmed, sucky company [23:26]
