MoneyIsDebt scary with the number of hacks in the bitcoin world [00:36]
* Jackmaninov has quit (Remote host closed the connection) [00:36]
dub not really [00:36]
MoneyIsDebt why not? [00:37]
dub there are far more hapening on much bigger scale elsewhere [00:37]

MoneyIsDebt yes, but in that world you have insurance and such [00:37]
MoneyIsDebt ...and yes, I know about CPA [00:38]
bitfoo also, consider amount of hacks / total size of economy [00:38]
bitfoo surely BTC wins under that metric [00:39]
dub I doubt it [00:39]
MoneyIsDebt you mean all other economies put together? That's hardly fair [00:39]
dub when blizzard gets its database stolen I expect it costs them quite a lot [00:39]
MoneyIsDebt Blizzard probably gets it back in free publicity [00:40]
dub ubisoft could be looking at some serious loss for backdooring all of their customers [00:41]
dub linkedin's security spend probably jumped exponentially [00:42]
* brendio has quit (Ping timeout: 276 seconds) [00:42]
MoneyIsDebt I don't keep anything of value online anyway.. [00:42]
MoneyIsDebt bitcoins (and glbse assets) are the exception [00:42]
MoneyIsDebt thus I'm more worried about hacks in this "world" [00:42]
dub the differences with bitcoin are that its an easy target to gain monetary value directly, there are a lot of stupid children implementing bitcoin services and a lot more people willing to blindly invest in them [00:43]
MoneyIsDebt Also, it's keeping me from investing bigger amounts. Now, I'm only buying what I'd be able to get over by cursing for half a minute or so. [00:44]
* brendio (~brendio@128.204.202.116) has joined #bitcoin-assets [00:44]
MoneyIsDebt Hackers (crackers) being anti-authoritarian should be supporting bitcoin. Show some solidarity to the project. [00:45]

kakobrekla thats so naive. [00:46]
* rdponticelli has quit (Ping timeout: 276 seconds) [00:46]

MoneyIsDebt Used to leaving the front door open etc. [00:47]
MoneyIsDebt (I meant unlocked) [00:47]

MoneyIsDebt very cold [00:47]

brendio I increased my own personal exposure a bit temporarily [00:51]
bitfoo ah [00:51]
bitfoo I was going to offer some if you needed more [00:51]
brendio I just need to manage redemptions etc now [00:51]

brendio okay, no worries [00:52]
bitfoo because dropping to 6% could cause an irrecoverable bank run [00:53]
MoneyIsDebt slovenian... cool :) [00:53]

BTC-Mining Also, public poll: Who here thinks transactions on GLBSE made in error should not be reversed? [01:55]
toffoo what kind of "error" are we talking here? [01:56]
BTC-Mining I lost money selling shares at .12 instead of 1.12 (made for a nice loss). Most people recommended to request a reversal. I however think such transactions should not be reversable and I didn't request it. [01:56]
assbot [GLBSE] [BITBOND] 1 @ 0.370001 BTC [-] [01:57]
toffoo sounds like you did the right thing [01:57]
* bitfoo has quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer) [01:57]
BTC-Mining Yes, just like stock exchange, I think transactions should not be reversable (barring hacking/stolen funds) [01:58]
BTC-Mining I however would like to see a setting allowing to set a % over/under market price at which it triggers a confirmation screen to pop. It would be as simple as a lightweight javascript checking the 7 day average and comparing if it's x% over or under your current setting. [01:59]
toffoo I would be a lot richer man today if I could go back and reverse all those fat-finger, bad big figure, or typo trades I've done. those can be expensive mistakes. [02:00]

toffoo that's not a bad idea. you could argue any trading system should have that kind of feature, but most dont [02:00]
assbot [GLBSE] [OBSI.HRPT] 1 @ 0.10896 BTC [+] [02:00]
BTC-Mining Indeed [02:01]
BTC-Mining Not sure the 5 day average is already loaded on page but eh [02:03]
BTC-Mining Hmm.... [02:03]
BTC-Mining I meant the 7 day average [02:05]
BTC-Mining 5 day is there. Maybe I should make a small script for greasmonkey using the onpage 5 day average... trigerring when submitting the buy/sell form [02:05]
BTC-Mining I have never used javascript however. [02:05]

Obsi don't forget to have it alert when the 5 day is 0 [02:06]
BTC-Mining Indeed [02:06]
BTC-Mining The 5 day can be very low/high however [02:06]
BTC-Mining depending if only the last trade is included [02:06]
BTC-Mining and if it was out of the usual range [02:06]
BTC-Mining I heard a rumor nefario is working on a new feature allowing to place multiple bids on different shares with the same funds [02:07]
Obsi yes that will be nice [02:07]
BTC-Mining If he does that, any issue with low volume of bids would pretty much be gone. [02:08]
BTC-Mining It might get processing intensive however checking with each transaction the funds remaining and removing other bids accordingly. [02:08]
* bitfoo (~bitfoo@unaffiliated/bitfoo) has joined #bitcoin-assets [02:09]
usagi no [02:09]
usagi database intensive maybe hehe [02:09]
usagi well, same thing ithink [02:09]
usagi but all the remaining bids could be cleared at the same time by a key number [02:10]
BTC-Mining Pretty much, intensive in queries [02:10]
BTC-Mining and database queries tend to be intensive all around [02:10]
BTC-Mining still, best option for rapidly changing data [02:10]
usagi its a bad idea imo [02:11]
usagi it will be removed when volume increases [02:11]
usagi it will be the source of many issues hehe [02:12]
BTC-Mining That's half true. Suppose price is 1 and 2 on different shares and you have 18 BTC. You might want to buy those at 0.9 BTC or 1.8BTC each, with no preference as to which to buy first. [02:13]
BTC-Mining As such, being able two place multiple bid on the same balance would be interesting to insure you can buy the first that gets an ask coming in. [02:13]
BTC-Mining But yes, it would also have disdvantages too [02:14]

DeaDTerra ZipConf has a major flaw/bug in the system, it's unknown when or if it will ever be fixed, JRO has said that it might not be able to be launched publically but it can instead run as a network with only trusted parties on it. Note that I am parafrasing [19:50]
DeaDTerra Rebate is up and running but is not as profitable as it needs to be and I doubt it will be as profitable, as long as it's not integrated to ZipConf and it doesn't have a proper development team behind it. [19:51]
