Have you played Elite back in the 80s ?
Long long ago in a galaxy far far away - which is to say ZX Spectrum, 1984 - saw the release of one of the earliest 3D computer games. That's right, we had 3D games before we had PCs, let alone cellphones. What nao, noobs ?
It was a thing of wonder, we all loved it, played it 'till our fingers bled (me and some guys from school 'cause it was clearly then or never!). I have good news : it grew up. It's called EVE now. It has tits and legs and all the 3D rest, eye candy galore. But deep down and at the core, beyond all the blush and eye shadow there lies the exact game that we fell for, in 1984. You have your ships and your turrets and your battle stations and stargates and hey... remember MANUAL DOCKING ? Well... that's gone. Sadly.
Nevertheless, here's me bridging the stars in my trusty Space Muffler :
And here's me mining two asteroids at once!
And here's to you having fun!

First time played Elite on Amiga500 actualy, didn't liked it much. My favourite game at that time was Sid Meier's Pirates!

That wasn't bad either.
Here's a little something fresh from the game :
The guy lost ~a quarter billion in implants in that little adventure.
