The Beast of the Mist with a lemonade twist
And the Very Flat Carpet of Yore
In very great hurry proceeded to catch
A boat they had already missed.
The Carpet of Yore, his fringe very sore
And his drawings especially flat
Exclaimed in disgust, with a shade of distrust
Oh, what a bore! And grumbled and swore.
His good friend the Beast proposed then a feast
And forthwith hurried to gather
A cat and some fowl and a tamburine whole
Wood shavings, glue and a good chunk of yeast
The Very Flat Carpet brought over a garnet
And various pieces of tin in his pocket
Smoked cheese, Insalata Caprese
And nary a quart of Dover Street Market.
With this they sat down at the edge of the town
And danced and pranced and then ate
All that good stuff and then had some snuff
Dressed up in gowns all ruffled and brown
Then the Carpet all round, not a little bit flat
Looked at the Beast which had muchly increased
And giggled and fell over dead.
This is the Risk of the Bisque : it ends in a twist.
