REF: A. 2006SOFIA1648 B. 2006STATE192802

On January 16, Ambassador Beyrle and Foreign Minister Kalfin signed the protocols exchanging the instruments of ratification of the Additional Protocol to the Bilateral Investment Agreement (BIT). Bulgaria's instrument of ratification and the original signed protocols will be sent via diplomatic pouch to EUR/NCE's Marc Nordberg. The ceremony was well attended by journalists, though their focus was more on the fate of the Bulgarian nurses in Libya rather than the treaty. The treaty, protocol, and supporting information on the BIT and the growing US - Bulgarian trade and investment relationship can be found on Embassy Sofia's website. BEYRLE
