Apparently Fetlife's own James Huesmann (who seems possessed of a deep understanding and given to militant respect for just some freedoms) believes that the previous volume of this publication "creates a likelihood of confusion, mistake and/or deception with the consuming public, which could be that the product is the same as FetLife, or that they are are somehow associated, affiliated, connected, approved,authorized or sponsored by FetLife".

Let us then make it perfectly clear :

• That there is no association of any kind, nor will there ever be any sort of association. Due to the appalling and outright morally repugnant manner in which Bitlove conducts itself in the public space I would definitely not want my name in any substantial way related to Fetlife, nor can I imagine a circumstance in which upstanding, thinking individuals would ever wish to be associated with themⁱ, outside of sheer ignorance ;
• That this publication exists specifically and precisely because Fetlife - in a manner sorely reminiscent of a list of Bitcoin confidence men with business aspirations too lengthy to reproduce here - has been preying on a mostly unsuspecting public by making materially false claims and putting out a whole lot of puffery about security, while at the same time not merely refusing to work towards fixing problems, but outright trying to supress even discussion of problems, many of which are blatant ;
• That arguments are not brought in the conditional-optative. If you wish to argue confusion, argue confusion, and show how it's supposed to work.ⁱⁱ Don't go "oh, it can be this, or that, or the other" in the hopes that nobody reads and you get your way in spite of truth and simple common decency. That's not a way to live, and no, having given at the office does not excuse you from behaving like something other than a collected sack of feces, Mr. "Ombudsman".
