Yes, that's right : they actually call Alger "Argel" over here. As in, Al-Yumhuriyya al-Yazā'iriyya ad-Dīmuqrāţiyya ash-Shaʿbiyya = República Argelina Democrática y Popular. Not Algerian. Argelina!

I always thought calling the Fire Dept "Bomberos" is pretty lulzy, but hey, if you don't actually pronounce your consonants I guess pump and bomb may well be ambiguous.

Argelina tho... Argelina takes the cake.
