New MPEx key

Sunday, 10 February, Year 5 d.Tr. | Author: Mircea Popescu

The new MPEx key CFE0F3E1 will go into effect March 10th, midnight GMT (this means at the end of the 10th day in March).

Please make sure to update your keyrings before that date. From command line

$ gpg --search-keys CFE0F3E1

to which gpg responds with

gpg: searching for "CFE0F3E1" from hkp server keys.gnupg.net
(1) MPEx, the Bitcoin Securities Exchange (visit http://mpex.co) 1024 bit DSA key CFE0F3E1, created: 2013-02-10
Keys 1-1 of 1 for "CFE0F3E1". Enter number(s), N)ext, or Q)uit >

Please sign the key

gpg --sign-key CFE0F3E1

and then export it

gpg --send-key CFE0F3E1

If you are running pyMPEx and it gives you trouble at the time of switchover you will have to replace the string F1B69921 with CFE0F3E1 everywhere in the file (a simple search/replace will do). Alternatively, the lines that need changing are :

25 self.mpex_fingerprint = 'F1B69921'
84 print 'gpg --search-keys "F1B69921"'
85 print 'gpg --sign-key F1B69921'
94 print 'gpg --sign-key F1B69921'

This change is not the result of any breach or security concern whatever. The original MPEx key was created on March 2012 and set to expire in one year, which will happen next month.

If for whatever reason you can't find the public key elsewhere, here's a dump :
