BingoBoingo: <gabriel_laddel> Wait a minute. Pasteur separated racemates by hand -- so I should at least be able to tell "biker crank" (racemic meth) from "crystal" (d-meth) << Perhaps I can introduce you to little miss trainwreck so you can see how this ends [00:09]
BingoBoingo: Ah, Elbrus, let me find an email [00:13]
ben_vulpes: i can't read racemates without reading "race mates" [00:14]
BingoBoingo: lol [00:20]

lobbes: latest update from archiver front: I have managed to successfully bypass archive.is cloudflare js-challenge-bs. Ended up using a combination of phantomjs/casperjs scriptolade. Crude, but it worx. [02:11]
lobbes: Next steps: 1) some turd polishing 2) move the irc-to-archive.is-to-zip process into 'live' environment 3) plan/build the payment-to-archives system [02:11]
mircea_popescu: cool deal. [02:23]
* ben_vulpes just started recompiling everything in pursuit of an ada-capable workstation [02:24]

ben_vulpes: i have what appears to be a chroot with gcc 4.9 and py 2.7, it can happily boot x11 proggies from within the chroot which i take as a good sign but not a definitive greenlight and now i'm mulling how best to make this chroot the root fs for the whole box. might mount my old root into the chroot, chroot in and mv that to a backup dir (but haven't reasoned through what happens when you mount a fs containing [17:29]
ben_vulpes: the chroot into the chroot itself...), and then boot from a livecd to move the new root fs to the disk root [17:29]
asciilifeform: ben_vulpes: if the mount contains itself, you can't cp -r, nao can you. [17:33]
asciilifeform: ben_vulpes: you gotta make a temp copy. [17:33]
ben_vulpes: something like copy newroot to /, mount everything in / except the newroot copy into it, chroot into the copy, cp -r all of what was at the root of the old fs (except the new root copy) into a backup dir and then replace the contents of the root fs with the contents of the newroot copy? [17:46]
ben_vulpes: in unrelated self-crits, orange county register runs a piece titled "the future of americas suburbs looks infinite!", with such gems as "...experts claiming that many suburban tracks (sic) were about to become 'the next slums'" [17:46]

mircea_popescu: and in other "we are the asswipes, we programatically cut the very branch we sit on" lulz, "we did not choose the "new rothchilds" nor do we want them. if bitcoin cash is a means to stop these people then it appears that the votes are being cast as we speak. if bitcoin cash is just another version of the "new rothchilds" then the votes will be cast for the next usurper. there will always be an underdog". [22:19]
mircea_popescu: because totally, the peon has this option, to insistently attempt to sabotage the elite, and it'll work to anything other than his getting utterly fucked, by apes eventually. [22:20]
