Nobody with anything intelligent or important to say gets to be happy during their lifetime, principally because so wretched and despicable is mankind, they won't commit for as long as they perceive there may be something owed on their commitment. Once the guy dies, once their "boundless", undying admiration's finally royalty-free, <em>then</em> they finally, if magically & inexplicably find the voice for what they "knew all along" and "deeply felt within their bosoms". It's... safer that way. Alas, twas not meant to be.
