mircea_popescu ok, so let me get this straight : [01:53]
mircea_popescu the PPT.A on glbse is in default ? [01:53]
mod6 srsly? [01:53]
mircea_popescu they were due to pay 1.28 btc Friday were they not ? [01:53]
mircea_popescu i see no dividend payment made. [01:53]
mod6 oh wow. [01:54]
mod6 wasn't there like sidebets that it would default? [01:55]
guruvan no, that was repurchased on plan I believe [01:55]
mod6 oh ok. [01:55]
kakobrekla yeah [01:55]
mircea_popescu how come the dividends do not show on glbse ? [01:55]
kakobrekla buyback [01:55]
kakobrekla not div [01:55]
guruvan it's not a dividend, it's a buyback [01:55]
mircea_popescu o, so it was just bought back ? [01:55]
kakobrekla forced buyback [01:55]
mircea_popescu you can do that ? [01:55]
guruvan ya h - then next week they sell the .As again [01:55]
mircea_popescu or was it sorta "soft forced" as in, if you're not around to sell tough tits ? [01:56]
guruvan yah - nefario just added forced buybacks (i.e. debt maturity) [01:56]
mircea_popescu aha. [01:56]
mircea_popescu so how does a third party verify this ? [01:56]
mircea_popescu since the asset page makes no mention of it ? [01:56]
guruvan very good question [01:56]
guruvan I can vouch for it being expected, and not a 1 person freaking out it didn't :D [01:56]
guruvan but. [01:57]
guruvan shy of that kind of anecdotal evidence? [01:57]
mircea_popescu ya kinda slim... [01:57]

mircea_popescu i wonder why is it so difficult to find decent companies to list in btcworld. [03:31]
guruvan what do you have in mind? what do you want to see? [03:40]
mircea_popescu ideally ? three people with otc ratings running a business showing over 100 btc profit per month for the past three months with a sensible business plan and clear room to grow [03:44]
mircea_popescu practically, as close to that ideal. [03:44]
BTC_Bear mircea_popescu: Part of the problem is business with a Bitcoin 'taint' pardon the pun are getting shunned from the mainstream B2B's. So it behooves one to not mention a connection to BTC. [03:46]
mircea_popescu i understand that. [03:47]
mircea_popescu on the other hand, if we don't manage to get companies going as a concept we might as well sell the coins and go do something else. [03:47]
* Doffx (~doff@c-76-28-215-172.hsd1.wa.comcast.net) has joined #bitcoin-otc-eu [03:47]
BTC_Bear Well I expect it to happen. I've been working on something for a year for when and if the break out occurs, it'll be ready to deploy. [03:48]
mircea_popescu something, what do you mean something ? [03:48]
BTC_Bear A B2B and B2C solution to ease a transition to POS. [03:49]
mircea_popescu aa [03:49]
mircea_popescu so why are you waiting on it ? [03:49]
BTC_Bear 2 Reasons, It's not ready, and the market isn't ready. [03:50]
mircea_popescu yeah, the market is a little unripe yet for many things. [03:50]
mircea_popescu nonetheless it's getting ridiculius, there's oodles of dollars waiting to invest threadign water, cause there's not what to invest into [03:51]
mircea_popescu i mean, talk about creating demand for bitcoins. some decent business people can aquire stock in would add degrees of magnitude more demand for bitcoin than some shop taking bitcoin or whatever [03:51]
BTC_Bear I could tell you what would help. If people would get paid commissions for opening MTGOX Business accounts for Brick and Mortars that accept BTC. There is NO SalesForce for it. [03:53]
mircea_popescu that might help, yes. no sales is a big problem [03:54]
mircea_popescu on the other hand i think mtgox is opperating in the red and has been for a while. i don't think they have waht to pay sales with. [03:54]
BTC_Bear lol, One should be willing to pay commissions to people that can increase the bottom line. That is how you get out of red ink. [03:55]
mircea_popescu i know that, but i don't run mtgox you know. [03:55]
BTC_Bear Yea, I know... :( [03:55]
mircea_popescu and they seem to be fascinated with wooing various govtments atm. [03:56]
BTC_Bear To much so... [03:56]
mircea_popescu which i kind of think is a strategic mistake, but hey. not my toy. [03:56]
BTC_Bear They are going overboard and well beyond reasonable measures to prevent fraud. You can't prevent it. It will always happen. [03:57]
mircea_popescu i think part of the problem is they don't have (nor can afford) a top level fraud person. [03:57]
mircea_popescu the one thing that massively sucks is that i'm not in SV. [03:58]
BTC_Bear I try to point out flaws in the measures that make the measures redundant. i.e there are MTGOX brokers that don't use AML, so MTGOX AML is just a stop gap measure. [03:58]
mircea_popescu i'd get a start-up a week if i was physically there. and good start-ups too [03:58]
