I have over you the advantage of having gone through this exact process at very close range once before, in living, recent memory. I can kinda see how things will go, at least with respect of whom to ask what. For instance, it's exceedingly rare for those aware of their basement boiler to be all too badly caught in the blast (unless, of course, there's some badly trained woman involved).

Anyway, I suspect gladiators are a little improbable. Maybe a whole lot of harlequinade and assorted sexual performance instead. It certainly is going that way already, in most urban settings you have a decent shot to find your lady love working the camsites on the side, especially if she's about college age.

@Anon: good news (or not, depending on how you look at it) - no cancer cell lives forever. Though I see no macrophages around.

See: "The Art of Not Being Governed," James C. Scott. That racket's been going strong for a while. Empires come and empires go; "boot stamping on the human face forever."

@MP: what'll which world look like? The pieces of the popped boiler? You'll probably have to ask some other fellow: that boiler's chugging in my basement. I suppose if I get the fscking parachute open and jump the Hindentanic in one piece, you can ask me again some time next decade...
