Chi non piscia in compagnia...

...o è un ladro o è una spia.

The filmi roughly translates as : whoever won't take a piss with the troop is either a thief or a spy. This'd be what the Italians in general groked of socialism, or in the quaint words of one of the characters, "accidenti, a voi e a quelle troie delle vostre mamme".

Basically an older bum known as Dieci by reason of lascia perdere takes a troop of kids through the inhospitable terrain surrounding Firenze right after the end of the seconda guerra mondiale towards those magical Big Rock Candy Mountains which always have and forever will constitute the appeal of a torn asshole to those unrottinculoed just yet on account of their young ageii.

Hilarity ensues, sort of, but more likely than yes probably not, because you're just as likely to lack the cultural references as you are to not have them, and consequently the whole thing'll just appear stupid (because that's how films work, at least the better ones : on the mirror principle). Also articles, for instance on blogs (especially the better ones). Same principle.

On the other hand, it's just a bunch of gypos doing dumb gypo shit. Either way.
